These 8 Unique Pheromone Perfumes Guarantee Compliments

Everyone loves being told they smell great. It makes us feel clean, confident & lets be honest, a little sexy. Scents are powerful – one sniff & you’re transported back in time to that memory of your first love, or time spent cooking with your Granny and inhaling her signature (ultra-powerful) eau de toilette.

Pheromone perfumes take it up a notch. Not only do they smell incredible, they claim to make you somewhat of a super attractor of the opposite sex. & with the dating apps lacking these days, we’re willing to give it a shot – for scientific purposes, of course…

So, if you’re here, we’re guessing you’re looking for a perfume that could drive that special someone (whether you’ve met them yet or not) wild. To save you your precious time, we’ve curated our DL List of the best pheromone perfumes in the UK.

Plus, we’re going to address some of the most-asked questions head on. Are pheromone perfumes real? Do they actually work? What’s the science behind them? Which is the best perfume for women?

So keep scrolling for all the answers you need before you consider buying pheromone perfumes.

What is a Pheromone Perfume?

Pheromones are naturally occurring chemicals produced by animals. Their purpose is to create a reaction by another member of the same species. Often, it’s to signal that they’re ready to mate (I hope you read that in your best David Attenborough voice), other times it’s to mark their territory, or simply to make some new pals. Pheromone perfumes then are designed to mimic these chemical signals, making them a popular choice for those looking to attract a a new BF or BFF.

To create the pheromone perfume, manufacturers extract pheromones from fluids like sweat and breast milk from animals, then add them into perfume in an attempt to recreate the same reaction in humans.

Does Pheromone Perfume Work? Is Pheromone Perfume Real?

There’s certainly no shortage of TikTok videos of people putting their favourite pheromone perfume to the test, and they seem to work (if you believe what you see in a 10 second clip).

We weren’t convinced, so we got to work & get digging into the science. Honestly, there really isn’t enough evidence right now to say that they are effective the same way on humans. A study in 2004, for example, showed that perfume alone (even the ones containing pheromones) wasn’t enough to attract two people together, which seems like a reasonable conclusion – right? There’s no magic pill, nothing ever is. What you might experience though, is the power of the placebo effect.

Our two cents (or scents, I guess)? If you feel attractive, whether it’s due to your incredible pheromone perfume, your new outfit or perfectly golden glowy limbs, you’re probably going to find that you will attract people. It’s as much an internal game as it is a superficial one.

Pheromones in humans might be a thing, but there isn’t enough science to back it up right now. It’s all down to putting it to the test, like we did, and see the effects (or not) for yourself.

There’s 8 though, that we think are worth the hype – wearing them will make you feel sexier, regardless of whether the ‘science’ actually checks out.

Best Pheromone Perfumes For Ladies

Arabians Tonka by Montale Parfums

Fragrance notes: Tonka Bean, Incense, Vanilla, Amber, Wood

Why we love it: This long-wearing unisex scent is well known for its rich and warm tonka bean key notes, layered with popular Arabian Oud. We personally found it slightly more masculine than unisex, but it’s a seductive masterpiece, if we say so ourselves. It’s a perfect blend of white tea, orange blossom, red rose, lavender, dry musk, amber, and vanilla. We couldn’t stop smelling one another in HQ – this Eau de Parfum is a must-have for anyone who loves warm floral wood scents.

I Don’t Know by What DS & Durga

Fragrance notes: bergamot, amber, vetiver acetate (woody / citrus)

Why we love it: Fresh, floral and woody in one hit. Incredibly unique, this perfume is an ‘enhancer’, which makes sense why this is a TikTok favourite for pheromone perfumes. It literally takes your smell (or whatever scent you’re wearing) and adds a touch of radiance, if you will. It’s one of those that smells different on everyone once it reacts with your skin chemistry. Plus we’re obsessed with the dreamy packaging.

Pheromone Perfume for Women by Marilyn Miglin

Fragrance notes: Italian bergamot, orange blossom, palm leaf, lotus, rosemary, and mint.

Why we love it: Since its launch in 1979, this iconic fragrance elevates femininity with its cocktail of fresh & elegant notes. It’s a real crowd pleaser and the perfect everyday perfume. Works great layered too thanks to it’s subtle yet has spicy notes. Spray on your pulse points, give it a minute to settle & prepare to feel irresistible.

Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules

Fragrance notes: Iso E Super (almost a cedarwood-like scent, woody & musky).

Why we love it: Another iconic ‘enhancer’ that adds a sprinkle of sex appeal to your natural scent. The only ingredient in Molecule 01 is the synthetic pheromone ‘Iso E Super’ (catchy!). This unisex scent with synthetic versions of pheromones is one you’ll find you’ll find you’ll get plenty of compliments on, but strangely, you might not be able to smell it all that much yourself. Unique, soft & a little woody, it’s the type of fragrance that continues to smell interesting when you cross paths with it, despite its popularity.

Original Pheromone Perfume Oil Roll-On by Venom Scents

Fragrance notes: coffee, spicy pepper, orange blossom and jasmine

Why we love it: This balanced unisex fragrance is both sweet and musky, making it another popular choice. Claiming to include the well-known pheromones (androstenone, androstenol, androsterone and androstadienone), there’s no denying this one smells great and wears well. We loved that there were plenty of small roll-ons to test before committing to a full-sized bottle and it’s notably cheaper than most of the other perfumes in our DR list too. One thing we will say though – we found their marketing a little off putting (are we allowed to say that..?). With hundreds of pictures of couples apparently obsessed with the product’s pheromone effect, and plenty of claims on their site without any published studies to back them up, it was a bit much. But if you can get past that, these pheromone oils are perfect for throwing in your work bag (and saving your expensive perfume for literally everyone else except your work colleagues).

More Sex by Charlotte Tilbury

Fragrance notes: leather, black pepper oil, sandalwood, velvety musk

Why we love it: Charlotte really wasn’t beating around the bush when she named this one. In a test of 104 people, 84% agreed that it enhanced feelings of seduction and sexual attraction. Whilst it doesn’t include any of the notable pheromones, More Sex’s blend was created using IFF Scentcube™ (a scent algorithm) that helped Charlotte identify the fragrance notes that would create a magnetic result for the wearer. This bold scent gets top marks for longevity too – it lingers for days, with the white musk base notes developing over time. We loved wearing this as an evening scent, for when you really want to turn heads.

Glossier You

Fragrance notes: pink pepper, iris, ambrette seeds, ambrox

Why we love it: Another “enhancer” that adapts to your body chemistry and natural skin scent, we loved how this smelt so different on everyone. Once it dries down, it leaves a fresh and slightly spicy hue thats entirely addictive. Unlike a lot of perfumes, it’s perfect all year round for your everyday go-to scent. The best way to describe it is you, but better. Which makes sense why this one gets so many compliments since it gives off “this is how I wake up everyday” energy. We love their signature milky pink bottle too.

Hypnotic Poison by Dior

Fragrance notes: vanilla, almond, jasmine, sandalwood

Why we love it: Renowned for its luxurious and sensual aroma, it’s an interesting scent, somewhat magnetic to those who smell it on you. It’s rare that a fragrance containing vanilla smells so balanced and rich, but thanks to the addition of amber and bourbon, it wears down to a soft and almost nutty sweetness. It’s stood the test of time since it’s launch back in 2014 and it’s entirely deserving of the 5* reviews online. We suspect this one will be a best seller for another 10 years too.
